Common illness backache: new ways of looking at
Seminar of the "Arbeitskreis Sportmedizin der Akademie für ärztliche Fortbildung und Weiterbildung der Landesärztekammer Hessen". Bad Nauheim, June 05, 2004.Objective of the seminar was to present for the common illness backache from the sports orthopaedic, traumatologic, sports medical, from the internal, from the pain therapeutic, neurosurgical and from the physiotherapeutic point of view new ways of looking at, based on physiologic, pathophysiologic knowledge, with relevance for prevention and therapy of the common problem backache.
The report describes the low back pain most probably as a result of static disorders caused by length differences of the legs and as a result of a hardening of musculature with decreased blood flow and hypoxia and thereby an energy deficiency in the muscle tissue. Therapy approaches can be stretching of shortened musculature and the partial compensation of differences of leg length, matrix rhythm therapy, water-filtered infrared A, physical activity to improve local oxygen supply, and anti-acidification procedures, conservative, interventional and operative pain therapeutic and neurosurgical procedures and several forms of back school for primary, secondary and tertiary prevention including behavior orientated training programs.
