German Medical Science has released a first version of its new web-based manuscript operating system (MOPS) for the twenty-first annual convention of the German society of Phoniatrics & Pedaudiology. Via the MOPS medical societies can establish a comfortable and fast peer review of all congress submissions.
The presentations of the fourth symposium for health technology assessment - evaluation of medical technologies - from 13th to 14th November 2003 in Krefeld are now online. The main focus of the meeting have been the demands on HTA viewed by health policy, industry, science, clinicians, and patients, cross-border issues of HTA as well as use of a HTA report on infection prophylaxis for hospitals and the public health service. The proceedings in print are going to be available at the end of May.
Since May 2004 the AWMF reports appear as e-journal within German Medical Science. The editorship is with the AWMF office in Duesseldorf; medical societies can submit their own contributions.
The 55. annual meeting of the German Society for Neurosurgery, which takes place in Cologne, 2004, April 25-28th, is published online via gms. Main topics are right, ethics, investigation in neurosurgery, monitorings, picture giving and geriatric neurosurgery. The print version of the complete meeting can be ordered online.
As preparation for the coming releases of the first Scientific Medical Societies - Journals some modifications were made on the Website. In addition, the user friendliness was improved and the site layout has been optimized.

47th Annual Conference of the German Traumatology Society will take place from 11

th of November 2003 together with the
89th Conference of the German Society for Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Surgery (DGOOC 13
th - 16
th of November 2003) and the
44th Conference of the Professional Association of Orthopaedic Specialists (BVO 13
th - 16
th of November 2003) in ICC Berlin. The contributions will be published via gms online under the rubric "Meetings".
