The SOAP project is currently conducting an online survey to assess researchers’ experiences with open access publishing. It is primarily aimed at active researchers in public and private organizations, from all fields of the research in the sciences and humanities and focuses on publication of research articles in (open access) peer-reviewed journals.

The 10th Conference of Infectious Disease and Tropical Medicine (KIT 2010) will take place on June 23 to 26, 2010, in Cologne, Germany. The KIT 2010 is the largest German conference in the field of infectious medicine and the only conference which combines the different specializations in this field.

The program of the 81st Annual meeting, May 12-16, 2010 in Wiesbaden is composed of more than 740 applied and 100 invited contributions. The motto of the congress "Advances and advanced education- Sharing knowledge" indicates the importance not only of research but also of training as well as the relevance of experiences in other specialties related to ENT. The innovative use of computer-based learning and teaching methods is increasingly common in medical education inspite of a need for further research. The possibilities and barriers of computer based-learning and teaching methods in medicine should be discussed in a scientific and critical way at the 14th workshop of the CBTAG with an emphasis on the social aspects.
