This year's Best Paper Award of the journal "GMS German Medical Science" goes to the article "Voluntary peer review as innovative tool for quality improvement in the intensive care unit – a retrospective descriptive cohort study in German intensive care units" by the author group NeQuI – Netzwerk Qualität in der Intensivmedizin (network quality in intensive care).

Another journal from the GMS portal has now been indexed in the important database PubMed. All English-language articles of "GMS Interdisciplinary Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery DGPW" are deposited in the full text archive PubMed Central and retrievable via PubMed. The visibility of the journal will thus be considerably increased.
