About HTA
The Concept
The HTA eJournal is published jointly by the German Agency for Health Technology Assessment (DAHTA), a division of the DIMDI and the German National Library of Medicine (ZB MED). It offers free access to high level, quality-controlled HTA reports, as well as other articles within the area of HTA. These highly valuable articles are only published after a thorough, peer-reviewed process.
The HTA eJournal offers rapid, worldwide access to those interested in the fields of medicine and public health. Published HTA reports and scientific articles can be synthesized with high resolution graphics and extensive tables. The integration of national and international reference databases, such as MEDLINE, as well as the ability to link to the original data of the publications, permits further literature analysis. The journal is archived on the secure servers of DIMDI, which provides perpetual access to both the articles and the appropriate citation.

Authors's Guidelines
The instructions to authors follow the basic Handbook for Authors for the production of HTA reports, produced by the DIMDI. The current version is available by contacting DAHTA.
Requirements of Publication
The prepared manuscripts or substantial part of them may not be currently published and cannot be under current consideration for a publication elsewhere.
Authorship and Copyright
The authors grant DIMDI or its authorized third party the exclusive and unlimited rights to publication, duplication, scientific evaluation and distribution for all works, including results developed in connection with the preparation of the HTA report. The exclusive use and exploitation rights, which extend to current and future technological distribution methods, include the right for DIMDI to archive and disseminate all works in an electronic form (i. e. publicly accessible databases, distributable CD-ROM, etc.). DIMDI also reserves the right to translate all works into other languages.
These requirements also apply to the publication of final reports. Modification of the layout and text organization may be performed by employees of DIMDI. However, any changes shall not affect the contents of the manuscripts. The manuscript will be published accordingly in electronic form.
All authors insure that they have furnished a substantial contribution to the article and that they are in agreement with form and contents of the manuscript. The author conducting the negotiations confirms that he holds the copyrights on his works as well as on the text and illustrations attached therein. These confirmations are included as a part of the Author's Contract. If material (e. g. illustrations or tables) is used from other sources, the author must submit a written statement from the holder of the copyrights indicating agreement with a publication in gms German Medical Science.
Conflicts of Interest
All authors insure that all financial interests or other conflicts of interest with respect to manufacturers or their competitors, whose products are discussed in or connected to the HTA report, are declared. This obligation extends to all persons who are involved in the preparation of the HTA report. This declaration is included in the contract.
Manuscript Preparation
The manuscript should be submitted in German, with an English translation of summary, abstract and title. The manuscript can contain tables, graphics or pictures. These should not appear, however, in the summary and abstract.
Title Page
The German title of the manuscript should be placed on the first page, followed by the complete full first and last names of all authors.
Abstract/Summary and Keywords
All HTA reports should contain a separate English abstract and summary, in addition to the German abstract and summary. The abstract should be constructed so that it represents a condensed version of the work. The author should list appropriate key words, and should, if possible, be taken from MEDLINE's Medical Subject Headings (MeSH).

- commissioned by DIMDI.
- Announcements relevant to the area of HTA
