16. Internationales SkillsLab Symposium 2022

17.03. - 19.03.2022, online

About this meeting

Dear colleagues and congress participants,

Thank you for your interest in the digital publication of the abstracts of the 16th International Skills Lab Symposium 2022.

Despite the pandemic conditions, the congress was able to be held for the second time in digital form from March 17th to 19th 2022. This time, the focus was on the interprofessional perspective on the work in skills labs. Thus, under the motto “Thinking about the future together”, the associations SimNAT Pflege e.V. (Simulation Network Education and Training in Nursing) and VIFSG e.V. (Interprofessional Association for the Integration and Promotion of the Skills Lab Concept in the Health Professions) participated in the conference, which was evident in the keynotes speeches “The skills lab as a field of action for teachers: potentials of the shift from teaching to learning” (Dr. Tim Herzig) and “Presentation of the SimNAT Pflege e.V. guideline for simulation-based teaching and learning - development and professional orientation” (Christine Loewenhardt/Meike Schwermann) enriched the event. Together with the medical keynote “Standardization in the federal clinical skills examination in human medicine” (Dr. Kai Schnabel), the conference exhibited a broad perspective on teaching and learning in the skills lab that spanned nations and professions.

Traditionally, there was a pre-symposium on the simulated patient method, conceived and conducted by the Committee for Simulated Persons of the German Society for Medical Education (GMA), this time on the topic “SP program – how do you deal with diversity?”.

The symposium itself divided the presentations into the categories “digital teaching”, “beyond medicine” and ”simulated persons”, and the posters into “analog teaching” and “digital teaching”. The conference program was rounded up by two workshops and the meetings of the organizing GMA committees, “Practical Skills” and “Simulated Persons”.

We would like to thank all presenters for their active contribution to the digital conference and all participants for their attention and exciting discussions.
