"GMS Health Technology Assessment" becomes "GMS Health Innovations and Technologies"

Cologne, October 2019 – German Medical Science is now launching "GMS Health Innovations and Technologies" (GMS HInT), replacing the formerly published journal "GMS Health Technology Assessment". GMS HInT makes current information from the entire field of horizon scanning (early awareness), health needs, health impact, health technology assessment, disinvestment, and innovations in relation to health and prevention easily and quickly accessible.

The editor of GMS HInT, EuroScan international network e. V. (EuroScan), takes over the journal GMS Health Technology Assessment, published since 2005 by DIMDI (German Institute for Medical Documentation and Information), to act as a voice for its activities. EuroScan is an important international forum for the exchange and development of methods for early detection and evaluation of innovative, new, and obsolete health technologies.

GMS HInT provides knowledge about health technologies throughout their lifecycle. The HTA reports issued to date in GMS Health Technology Assessment will be expanded as articles and published in the accompanying section (research projects) as a long version in GMS HInT.

The contributions are published in English. All submissions will undergo a peer review process to ensure the publication of only those contributions of highest scientific quality and innovation. For publication, the publisher raises publication fees in order to settle the expenses and thus to ensure a quality-assured, transparent, and sustainable support of the open access journal in the sense of good scientific practice. GMS HInT is free and perpetually available to readers.

GMS Health Innovations and Technologies is published with German Medical Science, an open access portal for medical publications. German Medical Science is a co-operation of AWMF, DIMDI, and ZB MED.
