Backround and Objective: The demographic changes have a fundamental impact on the future number of people needing care in the international context. In addition, the claims and ideas about quality of health care are growing. The public reporting of quality imagine factors to a comprehensible language of nursing [1].

The present study generates possible report fields for mapping the quality of care.

Methods: Based on a systematic literature search of bibliographic databases, international agencies, healthcare institutions and the HTA database of INAHTA, the empirical basis for the development of nursing-sensitive report fields for public reporting has been determined [2], [3], [4]. A modification of the methods of the Cochrane Collaboration and the German AQUA-Institute was applied. The extensive search for information provides the basis for the development of a model for implementation the report fields.

Results: Based on the information synthesis of the systematic literature search 20 potential report fields are identified for mapping the quality of care. Factors of influence are subordinated to the quality dimensions. The majority of the included sources comes from the USA with a total of 52%, followed by UK (23.8%) and Canada (14.3%). The model "triple jump of care" summerized the investigated factors.

Conclusions: In summary, the forward-looking approach to involve nurses in development processes as well as give support on how to participate in continuing education and training is constructive in order to optimize the quality of care. The public report of care associated quality creates transparency and comparability. The study provides a basis for further research to optimize the quality of care.
