Annual Meeting of the German MLA (AGMB)

About this meeting
Dear Colleagues, it is our pleasure to invite you to the Annual Meeting of the German MLA (AGMB) 2009 themed: "Medical libraries: Lighthouses in the ocean of electronic information".
Currently, the AGMB counts about 450 personal and institutional members (mainly from german-speaking countries) from different types of medical and health science libraries. Four working groups, a discussion list (medibib-l) as well as a weblog (medinfo) enable the exchange of experiences amongst its members. The journal GMS Medizin-Bibliothek-Information is issued three times per year on German Medical Science. The association's website can be found at www.agmb.de.
Focal points of this year's meeting (scientific programme) is the use of e-media (ebooks) in medical libraries. Further speeches focus on learning environments needed to use electronic information and on the German copyright law. A new session for exchange of experiences widens the abilities to get in contact with like-minded people.
In addition there will be a meeting of working teams, workshops, product reviews and a commercial exhibition. The manifold social programme offers a variety of opportunities to discover Hamburg. Special highlights are the reception at the Hamburger Rathaus and social evening.
