23. Jahrestagung der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Audiologie

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Audiologie e. V.

03.09. - 04.09.2020, Cologne (online conference)

Welcome

Dear colleagues and guests,

we cordially welcome you to our GMS presentation of the 23nd annual meeting of the German Society of Audiology (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Audiologie, DGA). The meeting was scheduled March 11th to 14th 2020 in Cologne but had to be postponed and hosted as a virtual conference September 3rd to 4th 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Organized by Prof. Dr. Martin Walger (conference chair) and Prof. Dr. Hartmut Meister (co-chair) in collaboration with the executive board of the DGA, the main topic of the meeting is “Listening across the live span”. It gives a broad scientific range from developmental aspects and the early detection of hearing impairment in childhood to rehabilitative measures in older adults. This is reflected in numerous free-paper presentations and posters. Moreover, impulse-talks during various structured sessions address up-to-date objectives such as imaging and implants, eHealth, Big Data, and Precision Audiology.

Owing to the high-quality clinical and scientific contributions of the presenters, it was possible to counteract the restrictions associated with the Covid-19 pandemic: Despite the worldwide crisis, the conference presents timely and cutting edge hearing science and thus closes the gap until the next DGA-face-to-face meeting which will take place from September 1st to 4th 2021 in Cologne, Germany.
