Diseases of the respiratory system such as bronchitis or specific diseases like tuberculosis and of course bronchial cancer can cause haemoptoe. Sometimes bleedings in the ENT-region can lead to haemoptoe too. In this event the ENT surgeon is needed. We describe a case of a patient who was sent to the Medical department due to a haemoptoe. There was one case of tuberculosis in his family. The pumological diagnostics showed no relevant findings. Only a lesion in the region of the inferior part of right tonsilla palatina was seen during a bronchoscopic investigation. CT-Scan of the neck and lung showed a foreign body between the mandible and the right pharyngeal muscular system. In a conventional X-ray scan of the neck in 2 complanarities the foreign body was detected as a needle. Due to a Korsakof-Syndrom in alcoholism the patient was not able to tell something about the insertion of the needle and no skin damages was detected. During an endoscopy of the pharynx we found a duct which leeds from the lower part of the right tonsilla palatina to the base of the tongue. By performing a neck dissection and with the help of x-ray-system it was possible to identify and remove the foreign body. Foreign bodies can cause haemoptoe. Never the less in patients without compliance and without findings in normal investigations you have to consider foreign bodies as a potential for haemoptoe. Conventionally X-ray scans in two complanarities can display the localisation of those foreign bodies.
