Text

With over 66.000 new cases each year, colorectal cancer (CRC) is the most frequent cancer in Germany [1]. Despite improvement in therapy, more than 40% of the patients still die of the disease [2]. However, death from colorectal disease is preventable. Effective and safe methods for screening are available and, if widely utilized in a quality assured manner, could prevent the majority of deaths from CRC [3]. This presentation gives an overview on the current state of evidence, expert recommendations and perspectives for prevention and early detection of CRC by screening
