ESBS 2005: Skull Base Surgery: An Interdisciplinary Challenge
7th Congress of the European Skull Base Society held in association with
the 13th Congress of the German Society of Skull Base Surgery

18. - 21.05.2005, Fulda, Germany

Proceedings of the 7th Congress of the European Skull Base Society held in association with the 13th Congress of the German Society of Skull Base Surgery

It was an honour to host during this Congress 360 colleagues from 42 countries all over the world. Our thanks go to all prominent skull base scientists but also to many colleagues of the following generation being responsible for an outstanding scientific program. We are very grateful to our industrial partners particularly Karl Storz, Tuttlingen having sponsored 25 younger surgeons during their stay in Fulda.

The organizing and the interdisciplinary scientific committee of the German society of Skull Base Surgery with its coordinator Priv. Doz. Dr. med. Ulrike Bockmühl have worked intensively to make this gathering a success. Ulrike Bockmühl and Dominik Brors collected the manuscripts and edited these proceedings as a reminder and basis for future scientific work around the skull base, while the German Society of Skull Base Surgery provided the financial basis of it. My sincere thanks go to them.

I do hope this publication will be received well by all colleagues working within the skull base area and will also stimulate to put some efforts into the clinical work for the benefit of our patients for whom it is not always easy to find the right partner for therapy.
