A study of the influence of pulse electromagnetic field (PEMF) on the state of hemomicrocirculatory (HMC) channel of the anterior segment of the eye in 30 patients (60 eyes) with dry keratoconjunctivitis has shown considerable disorders in the state of HMC in these patients, such as a acute spasticity of capillaries along the limbus, the decrease of number of functioning capillaries, the change of the character of intravascular blood flow in all links of microcirculatory channel, the increase of permeability of the vascular wall. As a result of the PEMF treatment in these patients,a remarkable improvement of HMC was recorded: the decrease spasticity of capillaries along the limbus (from 75% to 46.6%), the increase of the number of functioning capillaries (from 1.75±0.15 to 2.5–0.2), the normalization of intracap-illary blood flow (33.3%), the disappearance of statis and aggregation of erythrocytes both in capillaries and venular link of microcirculation, the decrease of permeability of the vascular wall. The HMC improvement was accompanied of clinical signs: the increasing tears production and subjective complaints were decreased. The obtained result allows speaking about the PEMF treatment effectiveness in patient with dry keratoconjunctivitis and also to recommend it for practical usage.
