About this meeting
Hosted in Remscheid, as the pre-conference to the summer-academy of the German Professional Association of Drama Therapy (DGfT), the newly founded Scientific Association of Creative Arts Therapies (WFKT) invited to the First Research Conference of Creative Arts Thera¬pies (after many years of informal research pre-confe-rences).
On the morning of the conference, state-of-the-art lectures from the four major creative arts therapies were presented, which culminated into a celebration lecture to honor the foundation of the Scientific Association of Creative Arts Therapies.
In the afternoon, two poster sessions allowed young researchers in particular to presented their work and findings. Followed by a fishbowl discussion on the topic: (Research) identity of Creative Arts Therapists - who are we?
Topics of the Research Posters were for example:
- Creative Arts Interventions for Stress Management,
- Early detection of Alzheimer´s disease based on the patient´s creative drawing process: First results of a diagnostic pilot study
- The Witness: Studying the Effect of an Observer in Dance Movement Therapy
- The music in music therapy
- Systematic Speechanalysis: Can it lead to the demonstration of therapeutic effects in art therapy?
- Schizophrenia and the moving body, etc.
