Outline

Abstract

A brief description of HTA - its history, main activities and present international collaborations will be given.

The challenges related to HTA as a multi- scientific field, involving researchers with backgrounds from clinical work, methodological work, health economists, statisticians, ethisists, social scientists etc etc, and to still keep a high scientific standard, are obvious.

At the same time this research shall also be useful, and brought into clinical practice. HTA-international has been established to bring these challenges forward, being a society and meeting place for all doers and users of HTA.
