Anhand einer aktuellen Literaturrecherche wird der derzeitige Stand der Diagnostik, Therapie und der Verlauf dieser Erkrankung dargestellt. Dabei werden neuere Therapieverfahren abgesehen von Immunsuppressiva und Cortison berücksichtigt. Zur Rehabilitation ertaubter Patienten eignet sich die Cochlea Implantation.
