Under the motto “Medicine in Transition - More Precise, More Integrative, More Sustainable”, the German Society for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS) and the Technology and Methods Platform for Networked Medical Research (TMF) are jointly organising a conference on the challenges and opportunities of digitalisation in the health sector from 21-25 August 2022.
Medical research aims to gain scientific knowledge to improve the diagnosis, therapy and prevention of diseases. In doing so, it is important to take the changed framework conditions of medical care into account in research. Demographic, sociological and technical changes demand new ways to better tailor medical action to the needs of patients. New technical and methodological developments help those involved to better link and use the data, information and knowledge content required for this. In this way, research can contribute to making medicine efficient - and thus sustainable - even in times of change.
