The role of estimands in Neuroscience

The presentation will provide an overview on the choice of estimands in a number of different areas of Neuroscience including neurodegenerative disorders with and without effective symptomatic therapies like Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease, neuro-inflammatory diseases like MS or chronic, non-progressive diseases for symptomatic diseases like migraine, pain indications or schizophrenia. The talk will first provide a general overview on the different aspects of estimands, intercurrent events and the main challenges in defining estimands in these different Neuroscience indications. It then will go deeper in one indication and will provide proposals for a meaningful estimand in this indication including a discussion of the pros and cons associated with it.
