Outline

Text

The term Medical Data Science (MDS) currently describes developments and initiatives where the focus is on skills and tools for handling and analyzing biomedical data, often by analysts with a subject matter background. This draws on expertise from several established disciplines, such as Medical Biometry, Medical Informatics, and Epidemiology. The aim of this workshop is to discuss how the Medical Data Science emerges from different disciplines as a new approach to medical data analysis, what makes a compehensive MDS toolset, what typical application scenarios for MDS can be depicted, and what steps could be taken to foster a MDS movement in Germany.
