Outline

Text

The term "anterior uveitis" contains a variety of separable disorders, which can be differentiated by history, clinic or laboratory findings. This includes herpes-simplex virus induced Uveitis, Fuchs´ heterochromic cyclitis, HLA-B27 associated forms and also infectious disorders (syphilis, leprosy, tuberculosis, Lyme´s disease) and other non infectious forms, associated to systemic disorders (sarcoidosis, collagenosis, inflammatory bowel disorders). The therapy of the acute stage is quite well standardized. Multiple drugs are available for the prevention of recurrences or the therapy of severe cases (corticosteroids and immunosuppressives).

In this lecture studies will be presented which give information regarding the grade of evidence-based medicine. These results may be used for therapy suggestions.
