Purpose: To present the results of AcrySof® CACHÉ? (ALCON, USA) IOLs implantation for high myopia correction in S. Fyodorov IRTC Eye Microsurgery Ekaterinburg Center.

Methods: From November, 2011 till October, 2012 21 implantations of AcrySof® CACHÉ? IOLs have been done. The study group involves patients with follow-up of 6 months or more. There are 13 eyes of 7 patients aged from 21 to 38 years (mean, 29.8 years).

Results and discussion: No intraoperative and postoperative complications were marked. At day 1 UCVA was from 0.4 to 0.8. BCVA was 0.7 to 0.95.

By 6 months there was an increase of UCVA up to 0.7–1.0. BCVA was from 0.7 to 1.0. Mean IOP level was 16.5 mm Hg; mean endothelial cells density was 2 683 cells/sq.mm. Endothelial cells loss was 2.8%.

Conclusions: The first results of AcrySof® CACHET™ IOL implantation prove high efficacy in correction of high myopia.

OCT of the anterior segment and endothelial cells count are mandatory for AcrySof® CACHET™ IOL implantation.
