Combined cataract surgery was performed on a 10 years old girl with Marfan syndrome.

After performing a capsulorhexis on the ectopic lens, the soft lens material was removed by irrigation-aspiration. A Cionni capsular tension ring was implanted into the capsular bag, by which the lens capsule could be repositioned. Before IOL implantation a posterior capsulorhexis with limited anterior vitrectomy was performed, due to the young age of the patient.

The postoperative period was uneventful, and the preoperative VA of 0.1 improved to 0.6 postoperatively.

Our combined surgical method proved to be safe and successful in treatinfg an ectopic lens of a 10 years old Marfan syndrome patient.
