Text

Traditionally, hearing aids have been equipped microphones to sense the acoustic environment around them in order to provide correct levels of amplification to those with hearing loss. More recently, hearing aids have included other sensors, e.g., inertial motion units (IMU), to extend sensing capabilities and allow for additional applications. In this talk we will outline opportunities for the integration of different sensors into hearing aids that go beyond the existing microphones and explain their potential to improve and expand the performance of future hearing aids.
