48. Kongress für Allgemeinmedizin und Familienmedizin

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Allgemeinmedizin und Familienmedizin (DEGAM)

18. - 20.09.2014, Hamburg

About this meeting

"Primary Care Medicine: Specialized on the whole human being" – is the main theme of the 48th annual congress of the German Society for Primary Care and Family Medicine (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Allgemeinmedizin und Familienmedizin – DEGAM), taking place at the university clinic Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) from the 18th to 20th of September 2014. At the 48th annual congress for primary care and family medicine, this topic is to be taken up and academically discussed once more. The focus will be 'generality', a significant core aspect of primary healthcare. Generality doesn't come from a single method or organ, but from seeing the human being as a whole including his/her illnesses.

In workshops, seminars, and through poster presentations, general practitioners will discuss the tasks presented by the generality approach in primary care medicine such as: The clinical challenge of finding innovative, evidence-based therapies, or the challenges faced in the current development and future perspectives of improving general practitioners' further education. The epidemiological and health care research are also points of focus, including the utilisation, organisation, and framework conditions of co-operations, models and concepts of accompanying the end-of-life process.
