Text

The use of a Cytosorb-Adsorber is explained with a 21 year old patient with 2b-3 level burn of 60 percent of the body surface and an inhalation trauma of the burning injured center. It has significantly extended the time of survival. The Cytosorb-Adsorber modulates the immune reaction through a containment of the overshooting immune reaction as well as a reduction of a new production of inflammation mediator. The monitoring is through a closely meshed control of Interleukin 6 and 10. The use of a Cytosorb-Adsorber provides possibly an advantage of survival with severe sepsis.
