Outline

Abstract

Introduction: A prototype rigid chip on the tip endoscope is introduced.

Materials and methods: A chip on the tip camera was used for the experiment. It is combined with 6 LED micro diodes for light sources.

Results: The parameters of this prototype endoscope compared to the nowadays equipment are:

Weight - 20 times lighter than most of the best sellers

Heat - maximum during work 60 degrees C

Cable - only one

Size - 5 mm diameter x 25 cm

Picture quality - poor compared to the best sellers

Conclusions: Nowadays the chip on the tip technology is used in the laparoscopic and thoracic surgery. It has many advantages.

To make this experiment a low cost chip on the tip camera was used. It was funded only by the author.

All parameters of this prototype chip on the tip rigid endoscope compared to the nowadays equipment for FESS surgery show the advantages of the “chip of the tip technology”.

The picture quality is still insufficient for surgery but can be used for demonstration purposes.
