Music therapy at mainstream schools is currently little established in German-speaking countries. In the present pilot study, a collaborative therapeutic songwriting project with adolescents aged 11–12 years is initiated at a grammar school. The intention of the research project is to support adolescents in their psycho-social development and to create a prevention offer during the corona pandemic. The research questions aim to explore the mental topics of the adolescents and as well to find out which group-dynamic and personal processes and feelings in the project they go through and express. Guided expert interviews will be conducted with 12 of the 14 participants to answer the research questions. The song texts as well as the interviews will be evaluated by means of a qualitative content analysis. The results show a thematic relation between world events, lifestyle and developmental tasks of adolescence and additionally show a diverse spectrum of feelings and experiences in the process.
