Introduction: NP (nasal polyposis) is a common condition in medical practice, which affects many people worldwide and its prevalence is rising. The diagnosis of NP relies on clinical judgment based on a number of subjective symptoms and few findings in physical examination. In this study we want to assess the correlation between preoperative endoscopic, radiological and operative findings of NP.

Methods: Thirty Patients with sinonasal polyposis not responding to a full course of medical) were attending the ENT outpatient clinic, Kasr Al Aini Hospital, Cairo University between Novomber 2013 and June 2014, underwent pre operative endoscopic using Meltzer staging system, radiologic evaluation using Lund-Macky staging system and operative evaluation during FESS (general correlation using Meltzer staging system, specific about what we found in each sinus (discharge, polyp and fungal mud).

Results: There was a highly significant positive correlation between pre operative CT and operative findings (e.g. RT side r=0.731, p<0.001). And, there was a highly significant positive correlation between the preoperative endoscopic and operative staging scores (e.g. RT side r=0.892, p<0.001). And, there was a highly significant positive correlation between preoperative endoscopic and CT staging scores (e.g. RT side r=0.768, p<0.001).

Conclusion: No single procedure can be sufficient in accurately diagnosing NP, and both the preoperative CT the preoperative endoscopic examination are complementary to each other
