More and more patients are turning to online sources for information on health issues by using search engines. There is a high risk, however, of ending up on pages with outdated or incorrect information, not recognizing them as such. To reduce this risk, the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care provides scientifically verified health information on the portal gesundheitsinformation.de (GI). To increase the interoperability of this information with the patient's own health data, this research aims to integrate the health information provided via GI into digital solutions using semantic standards and FHIR. Therefore, as an example, the information about endometriosis on the website was linked to various semantic standards, i.e. terminology standards such as ICD-10 and SNOMED CT. Afterwards, the information with the linked semantic standards was represented in FHIR resources, a standard for data exchange in the healthcare sector. To test and visualize the implemented resources, a Windows-Form app was created in C#. The app offers and displays additional information from GI to patients based on coded diagnoses and medical observations. The approach presented can also be applied to other health topics covered by GI and used for integration into the electronic patient record.
