Diffix is a data anonymization mechanism designed jointly by the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems and Aircloak GmbH, and commercially marketed by Aircloak. Free licenses are offered for non-profit use. Diffix exposes an SQL interface to the analyst, and anonymizes on a query-by-query basis. This technical talk will describe Diffix, explain why it is anonymous by GDPR standards, and provide an extensive demonstration of the product showing its capabilities, the ways in which data is perturbed, and how the system can be used.
