Background: Clinical guidelines appraisal with AGREE instrument is used for selection of clinical guidelines that will be adapted in Ukraine. It is an obligatory stage that is recommended by national guidelines for clinical guidelines developers.

Context: Training on AGREE instrument using is a part of obligatory training for clinical guidelines developers.

Description of best practice: Training is provided for members of guidelines development groups, who will be involved in clinical guidelines adaptation, by experts in methodology. Training is divided in two parts: theoretical and practical. Theoretical part includes presentation of history, purposes, and structure of AGREE instrument. During practical part members of guidelines development group together with methodology experts work under clinical guidelines appraisal using AGREE instrument. Furthermore, members of guidelines development groups are asked to appraise a few clinical guidelines by themselves and send their results and comments to experts in methodology, who will summarize and present all received results and comments. During last year a number of multidisciplinary groups, including general practitioners, oncologists, tuberculosis specialists, orthopaedists, etc. were trained in AGREE instrument using. Using AGREE instrument helps us to select the best available clinical guidelines for adaptation.

Lessons for guideline developers, adaptors, implementers, and/or users: Training in AGREE instrument using for members of guidelines development groups helps to look from other point of view at clinical guidelines quality.
