Overuse and overdiagnosis have been detected in many countries and in every type of health system, and threaten the sustainability of health care.

Speakers from Australia, Austria and Germany will present case studies of overdiagnosis and overuse in different domains of medicine, which will illustrate the different types and dilemmas involved. With discussion with the audience, the session will examine possible strategies and initiatives to address these problems.
