The objective of the ARMD study is to find out the incidence of ARMD in high altitude population. 1700 patients with a mean age of 70.2 years residing in altitude ranging from 4000 feet to 11000 feet underwent retinal examination by indirect ophthalmoscopy in full dilated pupil. There is a strict inclusion criteria and I am the only clinical investigator for the study. 107 patients were found to have ARMD. 96 dry type, 11 wet type. Incidence of ARMD is only 6.3 percent in my high altitude study which is definitely lower than the incidence of ARMD in plain land and to the best of my knowledge this is the only study going on in high altitude ARMD.

In rare retinal cases from a tropical retina clinic fundus photos with a brief clinical outline of advanced eales disease, toxocariasis, senile coates disease, chicken pox retinopathy will be presented.
