Short-term effectiveness of TiRobot-assisted placement of femoral neck system for the treatment of femoral neck fractures

Objectives: This research aimed to explore the short-term efficacy and prognosis of Tirobot to assist in the placement of femoral neck systems (FNS) in femoral neck fractures.
Methods: A retrospective examination of 31 cases of femoral neck fractures managed with Tirobot-assisted FNS were performed between June 2019 and January 2021. The vital signs of patients were monitored and analyzed before and after surgery.
Results: A total of 31 patients were monitored for a year. Of them, 19 cases were caused by a traffic accident, 12 were caused by falling injury, 17 were on the left, and 14 were on the right. Typically, 23 patients healed as Grade I, and 8 healed as Grade II. The fracture healing time was 3.2 ± 0.9 months. The average Harris hip score was 96.7 ± 5.2. The time to full weight-bearing was 11.6 ± 5.2 weeks. The average Barthel index was 98.1 ± 3.2. The mean follow-up time was 12.3 ± 4.2 months. The cumulative complication rate was 12.9% (4/31). one patient had Lower extremities deep vein thrombosis, one had short femoral neck, one had delayed union, and one had femoral head necrosis.
Conclusion: Tirobot-assisted is accurate, safe, and minimally invasive in the placement of the femoral neck system and can reduce radiation damage to patients and surgeons; its efficacy was satisfactory.
