Introduction: This ist the publication of a reconstructive method for difficult and small defects of the lower extremities with a free interosseus posterior flap for 6 patients.
Methods: The retrospective study included 6 patients, showing the advantages and limits of this flap and its low donor side morbidity compared to other flaps. The special anatomy und technique of flap harvesting ist showed.
Results: 6 Patients with soft tissue defect oft the ankel, prätibial, foot and achilles tendon area.
We had no flap loss. All flaps showed a thin, pliabel skintexture, with high patient acceptance, regarded functional outcome and aesthetic results.
Conclusions: The overall result showed a valuabel option for the management of small and difficult tissue defects of the lower extremities, due to its anatomical reliability, soft and pliable tissue, its low donorside morbidity and high patient acceptance.
