Question: This paper aims to present a PBL module structured on the basis of a scenario on Myasthenia Gravis, and provide results of feedback from students and tutors and academic achievement of students.

Method: PBL module reported here was structured around a scenario of a case with Myasthenia Gravis case and carried out among year 1 students of Akdeniz University School of Medicine in 2010–2011. The study group consisted of all students (n=251) and all the tutors in charge of PBL module (n=25). After the aim of study was explained to the study group and their consent was obtained, the surveys were delivered and filled out anonymously by the participants. In order to collect the feedbacks from the students and tutors regarding the scenario used in the PBL module and its implementation, a survey consisting of six questions was administered to the study group during the final PBL session.

Results: In the survey form, the item that received the highest score from the tutors (4.31 points) and students (4.11 points) was “History, physical examination and laboratory results were consistent with generated hypotheses”. The mean score attained from the PBL examination and formative assessment by the students was 124.6±11.2 over 150 points.

Conclusion: High satisfaction due to high feedback scores given by the students and tutors and high academic achievement of the students in this PBL module suggests that implemented PBL module is technically adequate and appropriate to teach neuromuscular facts via a case with Myasthenia Gravis.
