Welcome

The 12th Malaria Meeting of the Malaria group / Section Antiparasitic Chemotherapy of the Paul-Ehrlich-Society for Chemotherapy (PEG e. V.) in cooperation with the German Society for Tropical Medicine and International Health (DTG e. V.) and the German Society for Parasitology (DGP e. V.) took place in Bonn, Germany from November 14-15, 2014. The meeting was organized by Achim Hoerauf and Beatrix Schumak and further supported by the Bonn Cluster of Excellence "Immunosensation" EXC 1023. Over 60 scientists and clinicans attended the meeting, which addressed different issues, ranging from basic science up to clinical topics. The participants presented talks and posters on the following topics: (i) Transmission of the parasite, (ii) Biochemistry and Invasion of the host cell, (iii) Dilemmas in Travel Medicine, (iv) Drug Development, Vaccination and Clinical Studies, (v) Immunobiology and Co-Infections. Peter G. Kremsner from Tübingen  presented the keynote lecture entitled "Severe Malaria". Please find further information here: www.malaria-bonn.de.
