Text

Up to few years ago all the different studies like prevention trials, screening or diagnostic trials, diagnostic -, treatment- and quality of live trials were mainly performed in hospitals and clinics.

Due to significant changes in the different health care systems and general regulations there is a tendency to perform more of the clinical research studies in private consultant offices.

In the lecture the potential of these settings (e.g.: better access to patients, easier to pass administrative hurdles...) and limitations (aloofness by the doctors to perform studies in their office, time consuming etc…) will be presented and discussed.
