In this workshop participants will work in groups to discuss challenges and opportunities, visions and strategies for moving forward the field of medical education research with a focus on research competence and capacity. The intention is to delineate some future activities to be discussed in a wider forum.

Purpose of the workshop: To identify challenges and strategies to move forward the field of research in medical education.

Targeted audience: Students and faculty engaged in medical education research.

Intended outcomes: Identification of key challenges in field of medical education research, Suggestion of future activities to move forward the field.
