- Purpose of the workshop: The workshop aims at (1) discussing current approaches for teaching clinical reasoning to medical students and residents, and (2) analyzing these approaches in light of empirical findings of research on the theme.

- Targeted audience: Clinical teachers and researchers interested in the investigation of educational approaches for teaching clinical reasoning.

- Intended outcomes: The workshop is expected to generate (1) a synthesis of approaches that have currently been used to teach clinical reasoning; (2) a critical analysis of these approaches in light of available evidence on the theme; (3) an outline of an agenda for future research on how to teach clinical reasoning.
