24th Annual Meeting of the German Retina Society

German Retina Society

17.06. - 18.06.2011, Aachen

About this meeting

Dear Colleagues and Friends!

The 24. Annual Meeting of the German Retina Society takes place in Aachen. We are happy that Retina Specialists from the Netherlands and from Belgium will join us during this meeting to give papers and lectures. We will discuss many aspects and problems in vitreoretinal diseases in papers but also in high speed communications. During this meeting the special focus is on basic science aspects of our work. Results should be presented by those who are working on the front line of research in the labs. It is the first time that during the meeting a special basic science lecture is held: Dr. Mike Francke will talk about Müller Cells, a topic in which he is deeply involved for many years within the group of Andreas Reichenbach in Leipzig. This lecture should strengthen the communication between clinically active Retina Specialists and Retina Scientists.

The increasing demand of quality controlled intraocular pharmacotherapy has motivated us to organize an IVOM certification course during this meeting. The dinner will be held at the Grand Ballroom of the Alte Kurhaus, which is an inspiring place and a great venue for this event which will also include the lecture of Professor Max Kerner and the musical performance of the Alabama Haircutters.

We are looking forward to an exciting and excellent meeting.

Prof. Dr. Karl Ulrich Bartz-Schmidt (President),
Priv. Doz. Dr. Klaus Dieter Lemmen (Secretary)

and as your local host:
Prof. Dr. Peter Walter
(President of the Congress)
