Purpose: To discuss whether there is a good, easy and accurate method for the IOL calculation for patients with age related cataract following irisfixation PIOL implantation.

Methods: We studied 67 patients (103 eyes) who had undergone an irisfixation PIOL implantation since 1991 and who developed age related cataract afterwards. We studied preoperative and postoperative BCVA, UCVA, refraction, etc.

Results: In our experience we have good results with these patients and use a simple an accurate technique to calculate the power for the IOL for cataract surgery.

Conclusions: after irisfixation PIOL implantation, there is an easy and accurate calculation possible for cataract surgery with these patients.
