Introduction: Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is an easy, simple and rapid method to get a high concentrate of autologous growth factors that can enhance wound healing. This presentation aims at demonstration of the effectiveness of using PRP in myringoplasty through 3 different studies using 3 different techniques.

Method: The presentation will include 3 studies, all of them are prospective case series studies that were conducted in our institute on 109 patients as follow:

• 1st study is entitled “Topical use of autologous platelet rich plasma in myringoplasty”. This study was conducted on 64 patients inserting the PRP over the graft, supporting it, in 32 patients underwent classic underlay myringoplasty. The results of this technique were compared with the results of using Gel-foam over the graft in another 32 patients.
• 2nd study is entitled “Platelet rich plasma myringoplasty: A new office procedure for repair of small tympanic membrane perforation”. This study was conducted on 25 patients using PRP alone, as a grafting material, to repair small sized tympanic membrane perforations through transcanal transtympanic approach under local anesthesia.
• 3rd study is titled “Myringoplasty using fat and Platelet rich plasma, a new procedure”, this study was conducted on 20 patients, we used PRP as an additional supporting material that cover the graft in fat myringoplasty in case of small and moderate sized TM perforations.

Results: Successful perforation repair rate was 100%, 84%, and 85% in the first, second, and third study respectively.

Conclusion: Using PRP in myringoplasty, whether as a grafting material or in combination with other grafts, is a safe, effective, cost saving and minimally invasive procedure.
