Background: Hospital de Olhos de Sao Paulo

Methods: We compare the behaviour of densiron, oxane HD and oxane 5700 in BSS solution and in eyes submited to vitrectomy and silicon oil ijection for tamponade the retina.

Results: 28 eyes with inferior detachment have the retina attached after vitrectomy and heavy silicon oil injection of densiron or oxane HD.

Conclusion: Densiron heavy silicone is more effective for inferior retinal detachment temponade.
