Outline

Text

During the last years, the importance of clear-lens-extraction in clinical practice has been rised, especially in cases of less swelling or acute angle-closure glaucoma. Precise preoperative investigations are the key for selection of the right surgery procedure and the final outcome. Beside classical investigations like lens thickness, anterior chamber deepness, scheimpflug-investigations and ultrasoundbiomicroscopy new methods should be considered, too. In particular measurements of higher abberations could be considered. By means of selected cases theoretical and practical application will be presented.
