The absolute knowledge gain (% correct answers) between consecutive study years for the two major subjects internal medicine and surgery are displayed. Effect sizes are estimated from a linear mixed model. Internal medicine and surgery show a similar pattern in knowledge gain. Differences between the two subjects at each study year (except 4th to 5th) are significant (p<0.001).
