Immunofluoressence microscopy (magnification 40x) was performed using an Axio Vision microscope with Axia Vision software version 4.6.3, Carl Zeiss, Jena, Germany showing the apoptotic reaction represented by detectability of the cleaved caspase 3 at time-points 0, 8 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours and 240 hours after raising the inguinal fat flap of the rat and placement in the bioreactor. A negative control is also given.
