Figure 1: Patients present with heavy nausea, vomiting and frequently abdominal pain. Approximately 50% of the patients display compulsory bathing behaviour as hot showering results in symptoms relief. Chronic marihuana abuse is a prerequisite for suspicion of CHS. Prompt and adequate treatment of an episode of vomiting shortens the recovery phase and prolongs the inter-episodic phase of comparative wellbeing. Treatment of the acute phase consists of intravenous application of lorazepam, proton pump inhibitors, and sodium chloride solution.
