Call for Papers: Special Issue "e-Medication in Switzerland, Austria and Germany" for GMS Medizinische Informatik, Biometrie und Epidemiologie

The journal "GMS Medizinische Informatik, Biometrie und Epidemiologie" (GMS Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology, MIBE) and the GMDS working group "Medication information systems" (GMDS-AIS) call for papers for a special issue "e-Medication in Switzerland, Austria and Germany".

Due to high consumption of pharmaceuticals there are urgent questions not only about its efficacy but also about patient safety. On a patient’s course through the different sectors of the health care system a lot of information about prescribed and actually taken drugs gets lost. However, caring doctors are dependent on reliable information about current medication.

There are different approaches and various projects in Switzerland, Austria and Germany for better and safer drug therapies by using e-medication. MIBE together with GMDS-AIS offer a platform for those projects for sharing their approaches and experiences. The special issue aims to advance research and development on e-medication especially in the German speaking countries.

MIBE asks for original papers which have not been published or submitted previously for publication somewhere else. Papers should follow the recommendations given in the authors' guidelines of MIBE. You may find a link for manuscript submission there as well. When submitting a manuscript please provide a reference to the special issue by adding "special issue e-medication". Submission deadline for this special issue is 2017, February 15th.

The open access journal MIBE provides unique publication opportunities. It is free of charge – for readers and authors. Research data, software, videos and other can be attached to a publication.

Since MIBE has a focus on German speaking countries manuscripts dealing with regional challenges and solutions have better chances for publication than in many international journals.
